Basically five instrumentalists were invited, the audience arrived, the musicians had never met one another before, there was no plan - and then when the audience was seated, we just went - go! - and this is what it sounded like. FUNKY CLAV - Hanging out with cool bands like Marmalade and Medeski Martin and Wood began my love affair with any and all kinds of keyboards, Rhodes, Klavs, Hammond B3's, any and all synths. This piece I recorded on a VERY FUNKY CLAV DISCOMBOB-U-CAT (VARIATION) - an "Acid Jazz" piece. I first wrote this song around 1996 and recorded many different variations of it substituting different instruments. DISCOMBOBUCAT ACID W/VIOLIN - a variation on the song. DISCOMBUBCAT FIXED - another one? MIDNIGHT STALKER - arabic flourishes give this haunting theme a cool, expansive and mysterious feel.
