We specialize in the creation and integration of visual effects in film. The above is a technique called digital matte painting. In a Visual Effects workstation running Softimage, we can create and light massive cities and put the virtual camera anywhere we want in the scene. Through a technique called matchmoving we can extract the camera motion of a live action sequence shot against a green screen with marker points affixed to screen and floor, then analyze and extract the camera motion from the shot and export that camera motion data into the 3d workstation and move our virtual camera through the virtual 3d scene and then composite both the live action and the 3d into a seamless believable shot. This is how it's done. This is the new frontier for digital filmmakers - to integrate the new digital shooting formats with the virtual worlds possible through these advanced filmmaking techniques.
